“One must become colourless
while playing with colours.” – Rev. Babuji Maharaj.
Sri
AVS Pawan Kumar
Dear
Brothers and Sisters in the Path,
My
Humble Pranams,
1.
The above line has been taken from one of the
Messages of the Supreme Master Pujya Babuji Maharaj
on ‘HOLI’ compiled in the Book ‘Silence Speaks’
(Page 533).
2.
This message in my view is focusing on the attitudes
one must adopt while practicing the system of
Natural path. In a subtle but a clear cut message
Rev Master says that we must always ensure that our
connection with the ultimate must be maintained.
3.
In this message Rev Master compares the temperament
of people for playing in colours during HOLI
festival. There are two kinds of people – one, who
play and the others who are a witness to it. In my
view the great Master’s message reflects the
following two cosmic dimensions of the Di-unity of
Existence :-
(a) Eternal and external
(b)
Permanent and Transient
(c)
Pre
and Post Creation/Manifestation states
(d)
Spiritual and temporal
4. Both these divine manifestations are not
independent of each other, but totally and mutually
supportive of, as well as dependent on each other
even for their cognition. One cannot be viewed at,
thought of and imperienced without the other. Such
is the integrative characteristic of our Creative
Process that is being boldly and subtly asserted and
conveyed by our Great Master.
5.
There are two clearly identifiable parts of His
Divine Message;
(a) Maintain or become Colourless.
(b) Playing with colours.
6.
I shall be dwelling upon the second aspect first.
7.
Playing with colours. This
indicates the colourfulness of our collective as
well as individual
existence as a part of Total and Whole
Manifestation. Playing, however, by each individual
is mandatory. Yes, there may be silent
spectators, viewers, applauders etc but they appear
to be passive and at best ascetic in
character, though they distinguish and comprehend
the
variety and diversity of creation. But as soldiers
of the Natural Path, we are active and also dynamic;
hence we must play our role. Each one must seriously
and deliberately exercise their viveka to identify
one’s individual role and play it effectively,
willingly and purposefully. This is an important
aspect but more important is how to play with these
colours. Such playing itself per se reflects the
broad contours of one’s living and conduct. In this
colourful environment, the following individual
traits - both their development and practice - are
relevant and should become part of ones life style
and pattern.
(a)
Fraternal orientation.
(b)
Moderation.
(c) Sharing and sacrifice.
(d)
Honest and pious earnings.
(e)
Balanced existence.
(f)
Maintain continuous linkage with the Master through
constant remembrance.
8.
We are all Grihasta’s who are participating in the
divine endeavor of the master and treading on the
Natural path. The answer is not Non-participation in
the Play or Non-Cooperation with the players and
surroundings, but the answer lies in the dynamic and
responsive participation and cooperation, which are
the two dynamic pillars of life in tune with Mother
Nature.
9.
Now, I come on to the first aspect i.e. to
Maintain and becoming Colourless.
10.
We are
all connected to the Ultimate / origin through the
first Mind and Individual Manas. We have a common
heritage with the Divine and our inner Being is in
fact an extension of it. The original nature of one
is to exhibit Divine Characteristics of Simplicity,
Plainness, Calmness and Colourlessness, which is the
innate state of the Ultimate. The formation of the
various layers of Kosa’s, grossness on the
individual soul / self is the direct result of
Alienating / isolating oneself from this connection.
This has led to the collective degeneration of Human
kind. This has resulted in us to work at cross
purposes with the divine and Nature and thereby
confronting it. This crisis in the Creative process
needs to be reversed urgently.
11.
We all have to make an Endeavour to reform our self
back to the original state and restore the eternal
connection with the homeland to play with the
colours in the colourful environment in tune with
HIS will. The choice lies in either mend or be
mended by nature. The option is individual. We,
therefore need to become Colourless to play our
role effectively and meaningfully.
12.
On further contemplation, the following issues
addressed by Rev Master come to view:-
(a) During our journey in the Natural path we
undergo varied imperiences in the form of feeling
colours especially during our movement in PIND DESH.
These tend to reduce as we move on in the stages of
progress towards colourlessness. This implies when
correlated to the Message that we must set our goal
as the ultimate (colourlessness) and not be
attracted and subsequently stuck at the feelings of
the lower levels of advancement. The feelings must
be imperienced and with the support of the spiritual
guide and the Supreme Master, move on to the Goal.
The Goal clarity is thus the most important
aspect in the spiritual progress on the Natural
path.
(b) The Journey in the Natural path also
envisages our real understanding of the colours and
our ability to distinguish between them. Each Colour
has its significance in our march which must be
understood and one must not give undue importance to
them with our aim to achieve the Real Goal (colourlessness).
Master says that getting affected by them will be
like a mixture of coherence and incoherence thereby
loosing our focus on the Real Goal (of Nothingness
or Vacuum) and remain in a confused state.
(c) Rev Master when he states “One must
become Colourless while playing with colours”,
in my understanding, implies that our thoughts and
actions when divinized, and our Goal always in view,
the worldly activities must be carried out without
getting unduly attached or affected by them. Rev
Master further adds that once we are linked with the
ultimate, the colour of the ultimate shall equally
prevail in us. This is what Rev Master calls a state
of mergence. The importance of Constant
Remembrance and the continuous support of
Pranahuti to strengthen our link with the
origin, in the system of Natural path are
highlighted here.
(d) Another important facet of the Natural path
which the Master brings out is the intense craving
of an aspirant for attaining the ultimate or Goal.
Rev Master says that this is the only method to be
adopted to achieve the Goal. This will make us more
determined and restless which will reflect in our
Sadhana and our actions. The following of the Ten
Commandments in to-to and the support of the trainer
and Spiritual guide will enable us to firm up our
conviction that we are moving in the right direction
towards our Goal and not be bogged down by smaller
achievements in the way.
(e) Rev Master in his message states “When
the pain is there the cure would also come. We have
to create pain in our Heart”. We have to attain
a state of intense longing and desire in our hearts
to acquire all the states as the Master is ready to
impart. Master in his method has promised that with
pure and unalloyed love and restless craving as our
effort, will bear fruit and create a similar
intensity in our hearts. Here we find his
continuous support and his untiring love for us and
our spiritual upliftment always present. The only
thing he asks for is our “Burning Hearts” and
an intense restlessness to achieve nothing
but the Goal.
(f) PAM, our Natural Path, presents a
scientific and responsive Systems Spiritual Approach
- easily made accessible to each one specially
Grihasta’s - to reform and restore oneself to the
Real State of colourlessness. The individual Manas,
the Thought Force is the Instrument of Action. The
Divine support is constantly bestowed at each stage
of progress through the Graceful Offer of Pranahuti.
We must benefit from this Divine Offer.
(g)
As a
sadhaka, we must have FAITH in the Master and
his assured support and guidance throughout
our spiritual journey. Dynamic practice of all
meditational practices, in particularly Point A and
B meditation, Morning meditation and purificatory
process is the fundamental requirement and MUST be
done by all the practicants of the PAM. It is only
Confidence in the system which shall lead us to
regular and dynamic sadhana. In addition
Determination is the force which leads us to the
Goal of life but Conviction is the bedrock of
accelerated progress.
13. To conclude, let us utilize this auspicious
occasion to reaffirm our Faith in the Master and
March on the Natural Path with Courage and
Conviction. Let us also remain always colourless yet
enjoy the colours in tune with the Divine
Manifestation.
Pranams.
