11-15 Jan, Kanukunta Village. Report submitted by N.V. Raghava Rao

The overall experience of the Mansarovar visit is insightful, unique and memorable. There was a feeling of Silence from day 1 and changed to feelings of Happiness and Joy from day 3 onwards.

Time was spent in the following activities:

  • Meditational practices and satsangs
  • Sessions of Silence with closed eyes
  • Sessions of introspection and dwelling upon some ideas and concepts with open eyes
  • Exercise of owning up of conditions
  • Long sessions of Bedtime prayer
  • Looking at the sky and contemplation in the nights

Slept for 4 to 5 hours in the night. The sleep was not a sound sleep and I woke up 2 – 3 times in the night. One night, I slept for 3 hours only. There were dreams, most of which were childhood impressions. It was surprising to know that impressions could be formed which appear to be insignificant or irrelevant, at an age of 13 – 14 years.

Feelings during Meditations and Satsangs:

The meditations were deep.

Calmness, Quietness, Silence (predominant feeling in the first 3 days), Positive outlook, tolerance, hope, balance, Happiness (felt in the last 2 days)

Observations during Meditations and Satsangs:

  • Observed brightness
  • Observed various colours
  • Thoughts of the past were there.

Feelings and thoughts during Silence sessions and on Introspection:

  • Relaxed and fresh feeling
  • Feelings of deep gratitude
  • How to serve the Master?

The date-wise notes are given below:

Morning Meditation: Deep and Quiet

Silence Session: Feelings of freshness and gratitude (towards the Master).

When time was spent in silence with eyes closed, I observed various colours like white, red, pinkish red, blue, dark violet etc at various times of the day.

Meditation at Noon: Thoughts of the past were there. There was disturbance but the intensity of the disturbance was low. The same thoughts caused agitation and frustration in the past. Towards the end, saw bright yellow light and golden yellow colour.

Thursday, Jan 12 th 2006

Morning Meditation:

  • Calm and silent
  • Saw red colour and towards the end, it faded to light, very light red colour
  • Also observed white colour once.

Silence Session: How to serve the Master? How to make my life useful to the Master? Time was spent on these thoughts.

When time was spent in silence with eyes closed, I observed yellow light and light green colour.

Spent 2 sessions of 30 – 40 minutes each on studying the condition of my chit lake.

  • Session 1: It was very calm and bright
  • Session 2: It was grey, turned to light grey and then it became bright.

Friday, Jan 13 th 2006

Morning Meditation:

  • Calm inspite of outside music
  • Saw red colour and towards the end, it faded to light, very light red colour
  • Also observed white colour once.

Silence Session: Deep sense of gratitude towards the Master for taking care of everything so that I could spend 5 days at Mansarovar without thinking about anything else.

Morning Meditation 2:50 AM to 3:55AM:

Dryness and stillness observed.

When we travel in an aero plane, we travel very fast but inside the plane, the feeling is as if there is no movement at all. The journey appears to be boring. Such a feeling was there in meditation.

Morning Meditation 4:20 AM to 5:25AM:

  • A little absorbing and calm
  • Feeling very positive and upbeat

Sat in the moonlight on 14 th Jan 2006 (poornima) from 11 PM to 12:45 AM looking at the sky.

Felt very insignificance looking at the infinite, vast expanse, ever expanding sky. It was a very humbling experience. The following thoughts came to mind:

  • I am too small
  • Nothing is worth fighting for
  • No 2 people think alike
  • Everybody is moving at his own pace
  • All are progressing.
